Welcome to Dagashiya Momo Cafe!
A small, old-fashioned Japanese candy shop in Yanagawa, Fukuoka — like visiting grandma’s house. Our owner, momo, taught school for 36 years and opened this shop in spring 2025 to follow her childhood dream.
momo is studying English and loves talking with visitors from abroad. Please come and say hello!

What is dagashi?
Dagashi are cheap, traditional Japanese snacks and candies, many of them only 10 to 50 yen. Children in Japan have bought them with their pocket money for generations. At Momo Cafe you can pick from lots of dagashi and try retro games such as the lucky ball, a 10-yen game where you can win prizes.

Getting here
From Nishitetsu Yanagawa Station: about 8 minutes by taxi or car, about 15 minutes by bicycle, or about 45 minutes on foot (3.2 km, according to Google Maps). It is a nice stop after the Yanagawa river boat cruise.
